Campfire Ban Lifted – August 30th 2016 – 12pm (Noon) PST

Effective Noon, Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 and Until Further Notice: The campfire ban in effect for the West Howe Sound Fire Protection District has been lifted. Open burning restrictions in the Town of Gibsons continues to be in effect under Town of Gibsons Fire Regulation Bylaw No. 660. By Order, Rob Michael, Fire Chief Gibsons

Campfire Ban Now In Effect.

Effective Noon, Wednesday, August 17th, 2016 and Until Further Notice: A campfire ban is in effect for all areas within the West Howe Sound Fire Protection District. This includes all fires whether for warmth, cooking or for ceremonial purposes and all beach fires. Fires in stoves or barbecues using gas or briquettes are allowed.

Campfire Ban Lifted – August 31st 2015

From the Office of the Fire Chief: Effective Noon, Monday, August 31st, 2015: The campfire ban is lifted for areas within the Gibsons & District Fire Protection boundaries. All fires must comply with SCRD Bylaw #631 and Town of Gibsons Fire Regulation Bylaw #660 remains in effect with restrictions on all open burning.
